Ferrari F8 Spider Debuts With the Most Successful Ferrari V8 Ever

Another good news for Ferrari fans; the Maranello automaker has unveiled the Ferrari F8 Spider that replaces the 488 Spider. The mid-rear-engined drop-top is powered by the most successful Ferrari V8 and looks pretty similar to its coupe sibling, the F8 Tributo. The major difference, of course, is the electrical retractable hardtop and a new rear deck to contain the roof. The convertible takes just 14 seconds to deploy or retract the roof while cruising at a speed of 45 km/h. It is not only more aerodynamic (10% extra), but is also 20 kg lighter than its predecessor. Everyone knows the name ‘Ferrari’ is synonym to performance and driving pleasure. The Ferrari F8 Spider is no exception. The power comes from the award-winning V8 with twin-turbos churning out a whopping 711 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque. This is 50 hp and 7 lb-ft extra than the 488 Spider. The sporty convertible is very agile with a 0 to 100 km/h time of 2.9 seconds. The 0-200 km/h sprint will take 8.2 seconds on its way to a top speed of 340 km/h. This is 15 km/h more than the sports car it is replacing. Ferrari has made many additions in and outside to make it lighter and more aerodynamic. The automaker has also taken care of European emission laws by installing an exhaust filter. The new cars from Maranello are coming fast. Just recently, the automaker also introduced the 812 Superfast.
